We especially loved feeding the elk bulls and getting an up close picture with them from the window. Here’s something you probably didn’t know. My husband even had a great time and he tends to get quite impatient with the kind of outings I plan for the kids, but Daniel kept him entertained with hunting conversation. We got an extra long tour and he didn’t rush us at all. When the kids ran out of our 3 feed bags, he shared his bucket with them, and they went right on feeding. He was patient with 3 extremely excited kids who were here and there back and forth on the bus. Daniel was our bus driver and he really made the trip! My husband and him talked deer hunting on the bus drive, and he knew all the animal names, cool facts, and let us ask him all the questions in the world! He stopped a great deal to let my 3 kids feed every animal they desired, let us get pictures, and even watch the bucks fight for a good deal of time. On the tour, we ended up being the only ones on the bus, my family of 5. While we waited and the kids ogled over everything in the gift store, the lady at the front gave the kids some left over trunk or treat candy and let them hold and pet one of the piglets she had in the shop. ![]() We were the only family, and just a few singles came in and bought the drive through tour. It didn’t take quite an hour for us to see all the walk about animals, but it was also an empty park. My 3 kids: 8, 5, & 2 years adored it! They each got to feed and pet animals. The walk through was great with baby camel and giraffes following us along the fences and all animals eager to accept the food and follow you down the fences. The lady told us to grab one and do the walk through and after that, it’d be perfect timing to take the tour bus through the riding part and take the rest of the bags. Upon arrival, I bought the package deal for 4 bags of food. They were currently waiving the upcharge for using a ticket purchased same day. We took a shot on the safari, and boy are we glad we did!! ![]() These complex mixtures of species were analyzed to investigate the retention and particle interaction behavior under different AF4 experimental conditions, such as the mobile phase. ![]() Furthermore, different emulsions were mixed with inorganic species used as additives in cosmetics and coatings such as TiO2. ![]() Additionally a low particle size shoulder was observed for SdFFF indicating bimodality in the reactor very early during the polymerization reaction. The calculated radii values were 5 nm larger for SdFFF measurements for each analyzed sample against the corresponding AF4 values. SdFFF has additional separation capabilities with a much higher resolution compared to AF4. Results indicated differences between AF4 and DLS results due to DLS taking hydration layers into account, whereas both AF4 and SdFFF were coupled to MALLS detection, hence not taking the hydration layer into account for size determination. The obtained particle sizes were compared against batch-mode dynamic light scattering (DLS). Asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (AF4) and sedimentation field-flow fractionation (SdFFF), coupled to a multidetector system, multi-angle laser light scattering (MALLS), ultraviolet (UV) and refractive index (RI), respectively, were used to investigate the evolution of particle sizes and particle size distributions (PSDs) as the polymerization progressed. An acrylic emulsion polymerization was conducted, continuously sampled from the reactor and subsequently analyzed to determine the particle size, radius of gyration in specific, of the latex particles throughout the polymerization reaction. As model systems, a pure acrylic emulsion and emulsions containing titanium dioxide were prepared and analyzed. In this study, different FFF techniques were used for the fractionation and analysis of polymer emulsions/latexes. Copyright 1998Academic PressĪdvanced analysis of polymer emulsions: Particle size and particle size distribution by field-flow fractionation and dynamic light scattering. For many classes of particles, resolution of the MALS/FFF combination far exceeds that of TEM measurements. The MALS/FFF combination provides unique advantages and precision relative to FFF, photon correlation spectroscopy, and CHDF techniques used alone. The latter has proven most useful when combined with MALS to provide accurate differential number fraction size distributions for a broad range of particle classes. At that time, fractionation of particles was achievable by capillary hydrodynamic chromatography (CHDF) and field flow fractionation (FFF) methods. The great success, in the past decade, of on-line multiangle light scattering (MALS) detection combined with size exclusion chromatography for the measurement of polymer mass and size distributions suggested, in the early 1990s, that a similar attack for particle characterization might prove useful as well. The very best characterized polystyrene latex sphere standards have been measured extensively using transmission electron microscope (TEM) images of a large subpopulation of such samples or by means of the electrostatic classification method as refined at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. ![]() The acid test for any particle sizing technique is its ability to determine the differential number fraction size distribution of a simple, well-defined sample. In the shell, you can add a file or directory to a tar archive as long as it is not compressed. Using it, you can open a tar archive as if it were any other directory, have a look inside, extract individual files, add files to it, and even preview the text files and images it contains. Most Linux and BSD desktops come with a graphical archive utility. If you have an existing tarball and want to add a new file into it, you don't have to unarchive everything just to add a new file. Add a file or directory to an existing tarball Once you're comfortable with the basics, it's useful to explore other features. The tar utilities are very robust and flexible. zip files: $ tar -extract -file archive.zip Advanced tar You can even use the tar utility to unzip. In a shell, the command to extract an archive is pretty intuitive: $ tar -extract -file I use this option so that when I extract files from a tarbomb, they remain tidy and contained. The Dolphin file manager offers a feature to autodetect whether the files extracted from an archive are contained in a directory or if a new directory needs to be created for them. In a GUI, right-click the archive you want to extract and select "Extract." If you've received a tarball from a friend or a software project, you can extract it in either your GUI desktop or in a shell. $ tar -create -gzip -file myfilesĬommon extensions are tar.gz and. Tarbombs are useful for patches and software installers it's just a matter of knowing when to use them and when to avoid them. ![]() These kinds of archives are sometimes called a tarbomb, although not always with a negative connotation. You don't have to put files into a directory before archiving them, but it's considered poor etiquette not to, because nobody wants 50 files scattered out onto their desktop when they unarchive a directory. The tar utility is unique among commands, because it doesn't require dashes in front of its short options, allowing power users to abbreviate complex commands like this: $ tar cvf archive.tar myfiles To gather a group of files into one archive, place your files in a directory and then invoke tar, providing a name for the archive that you want to create and the directory you want to archive: $ tar -create -verbose -file archive.tar myfiles In a shell, it's basically the same process. Right-click on the directory and select "Compress".I'm using KDE, but the process is essentially the same on Gnome or XFCE: In a GUI, creating a tarball is, at the most, a three-step process. Creating a tarballĪ tar archive is often referred to as a tarball, presumably because we hackers love to shorten words to as few syllables as possible, and "tarball" is shorter and easier than "tar archive." If you really want an actual tar utility on Windows, GNU tar is installable through WSL on Windows 10 or through Cygwin. Its name implies it's a zip utility, but it also works with tar archives, and even provides commands for the cmd command-line interface. tar files is to install the LGPL open source 7-Zip utility. On Linux, BSD, Illumos, and even Mac OS, the tar command is already installed for you. The tar format only creates a container for files, but the files can be compressed with separate utilities. zip file, but a tar archive is notably not compressed. People new to the tar format usually equate it to a. ![]() Its purpose is simple: It takes one or more files and "wraps" them into a self-contained file, called a tape archive because when tar was invented it was used to place data on storage tapes. tar file at some point.
